It's a busy season at NFT, as we are gearing up for our second annual Raise Hope Golf Classic on October 7. It promises to be a wonderful day of golf--but more importantly it will allow us to raise awareness about NFT and our mission of hope for transplant patients.  Let us know if you've had a successful event recently! Plan Ahead: Holiday Fundraisers It's time to start thinking ahead to fundraising during the holidays! The winter months offer some great fundraising opportunites. Here are some ideas: Pumpkin Carving Contest Harvest Dinner Holiday Sales (ornaments, gift wrapping, poinsettias, wreaths) Breakfast with Santa New Year's Eve Gala Join NFT's New Online Community Join NFT's new online community at HealthUnlocked. It's a great place for you to connect with other transplant patients, ask questions and learn more about transplantation. We will be monitoring the site and popping in to answer any questions you may have about NFT. This is a wonderful new resource for our patients that gives you the ability to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.  NFT In the News Organ Donation: You Can Save a Life Woman in Need of Lifesaving Transplant Fundraiser to Benefit Heart Transplant Recipient Woman Reflects on Lifetime of Health Battles  Patient of the Month: Denise Belk As a child, Denise was diagnosed with Wilson’s disease, a genetic disorder causing too much copper to accumulate in her liver. In 2012, after experiencing difficulties recovering from a routine surgery, doctors learned she had developed cirrhosis and was in liver failure. A liver transplant is essential to her survival. Although this has been a difficult time for Denise and her loving family, it has brought them closer together and made them stronger in their faith. They’re all confident that God has a bigger plan in mind than any of them can imagine. She stays active by traveling when she’s able, watching sports, spending quality time with family and friends and enjoying photography. Perhaps her most favorite activity is spending as much time as possible with her precious nephew, and she’s thrilled that her family is eagerly awaiting twins, who will arrive in December. August Transplant Recipients We're thrilled for our patients who received transplants during the month of August!  Press Outreach Reminder NFT's Director of Communications, Emily Joyner, will be on maternity leave December 15 through February 7. While she is out, patient campaigns will be responsible for their own press outreach.   Please take some time to review the Media Outreach section in the Campaign Log-in area of our site, as it’s full of helpful tips and information about how to conduct media outreach for your events.  If you have any questions, please contact Emily. Don't Forget--New Fundraising Items Available Many of you have already started selling our new "I'm Raising Hope" bracelets. This is a great addition to your current fundraising efforts. Contact your fundraising consultant for more information! NFT's Balloon Launch Celebration Earlier in the week, you should have received an e-mail about our upcoming balloon launch celebration that will take place at the second annual Raise Hope Golf Classic on Monday, October 7. If you are a current NFT patient, consider passing the information along to your friends and family--what a wonderful way for you to be honored during our balloon launch celebration. Anyone who makes a $25 donation can honor their loved one during the balloon launch celebration. Their loved one's name will be attached to a balloon and a sign will display their special message. Tribute signs can be a memorial, in honor of a special transplant patient or just a general message of support. You can honor a special transplant patient or loved one during our celebratory balloon launch by making a $25 donation. Your loved one's name will be lifted on their balloon and a sign will bear your special message! Your tribute sign can be a memorial, in honor of a special patient or just a general message of support. HAGAMOS ESTA ORACIÓN POR TODOS LOS ENFERMOS DE CÁNCER Querido Señor y Padre nuestro, Estamos Rezando por la cura del Cáncer, y Te Pedimos Señor que nos ayudes, y nos des la fuerza para que esta oración vaya con todo amor y esperanza, para ayudar a todas las personas que nos encontremos con este mal y para los que no lo tenemos no nos vaya a llegar. Te lo pedimos Señor,con todo el amor que tu deseas siempre para todos nosotros. Amigos les pido que no dejen de hacer circular esta vela. Y dejamos en manos de NUESTRO SEÑOR,SUS BENDICIONES.
