Patient of the Month: Denise Belk

As a child, Denise was diagnosed with Wilson’s disease, a genetic disorder causing too much copper to accumulate in her liver. In 2012, after experiencing difficulties recovering from a routine surgery, doctors learned she had developed cirrhosis and was in liver failure. A liver transplant is essential to her survival.
Although this has been a difficult time for Denise and her loving family, it has brought them closer together and made them stronger in their faith. They’re all confident that God has a bigger plan in mind than any of them can imagine.
She stays active by traveling when she’s able, watching sports, spending quality time with family and friends and enjoying photography. Perhaps her most favorite activity is spending as much time as possible with her precious nephew, and she’s thrilled that her family is eagerly awaiting twins, who will arrive in December.
To read more about Denise or to make a tax-deductible donation in her honor, please visit her personal fundraising page.
